UCSD’s startBlue Fall Showcase

Wilson Sonsini is proud to support UCSD’s StatBlue Fall Showcase on Wednesday, December 8, 2022. Hear from and learn more about the 8 teams of startBlue cohort 1, what they’ve been working on for the past 3 months, and what they’re planning to accomplish by the end of the program. Attendees will have the opportunity to pick the 4 teams you most want to meet in a breakout room with for more detailed conversation and get a chance to ask them questions. The audience will choose who the two winning companies are at the end of the presentations.

StartBlue Cohort 1:

Algeon- Leveraging ocean derived materials to create bio-innovative plastic alternatives.

Anchoral- Reinventing 2000 year old anchor technology to be less destructive, more intelligent, and easier to use.

CalWave- Unlocking the vast and steady carbon-free power from ocean waves and bringing superior power and monitoring technology to market with a global reach.

DayBreak Seaweed- Bringing seaweed into the everyday kitchen by providing nutrient-dense, umami-packed, and nourishing kitchen staples.

FishSense- Using imaging advancements to improve underwater biomass measurements and monitor fish population growth and health.

Kai Pono- Transforming the stormwater industry with a unique stormwater filtration device that is low impact, cost effective, easily maintained, and IOT-enabled.

Reefpark - Uses new 3D (bio)printing techniques to create living coral reef mimicking structures for the sustainable use of coastal resources.

Sepiabotics- Integrating next-generation robotics, artificial intelligence, and computer vision.
